| LASTWOODSMAN | Herr Engineering HRR 105, Fokker D-7 | Parked | 31-May-17 22:01 | | | Views : 795 | | I will just have to call it the "weathered look" - next time I will mix it up 50/50 Golden Oak and Natural stain to get the lighter color I was after. At least the good laminated Axial came out just the right tinge of red, and the practice prop was "Natural" stain. Now for many thin layers of rattle can Krylon Gloss Clear coatings. |
| LASTWOODSMAN | Herr Engineering HRR 105, Fokker D-7 | Parked | 31-May-17 21:58 | | | Views : 806 | | Just stained my 3 props after 2 wks of cleaning my apt! The small one Helice Eclair showed up with black darkened blotches on the blades - I don't know why - and I then made the mistake of brushing on a second layer of stain (golden oak) even though I knew it would darken it way darker (I thought I had overlapped the stain on the first try) and that did not work to remove those blotches!!! |
| LASTWOODSMAN | SIG Cabinaire | Parked | 30-May-17 21:57 | | | Views : 809 | | Next flight, I have a powerful motor - 4 loops of 1/8" rubber 12 " long ... The last time I flew it, I had two tabs on the elevator and one on the rudder - it accelerated fast with so much power in the tightest circle, I had to duck my head at the last second as it screamed by just missing me !! - and crashed ... |

| LASTWOODSMAN | SIG Cabinaire | Parked | 29-May-17 16:33 | | | Views : 779 | | Hummingbirds are marvels of amazing powers of flight, and all species feed while hovering, and are the only bird to fly backwards. The dead giveaway for identifying the male "Broad-Tailed" is the loud, distinctive, shrill, metalllic whistling, or loud trill, when they fly, which is often heard before actually seeing the bird. |
| LASTWOODSMAN | SIG Cabinaire | Parked | 29-May-17 16:22 | | | Views : 820 | | Broad-Tailed Hummingbird - hummingbirds are gems of beauty whose throats (gorgets) and crowns reflect a brilliant colorful metalllic gllittering iridescence that flashes from the correct light angle, otherwise, the throats look black in most lights. |
