The space in front of the instrument panel just behind the windscreen is painted flat black.

The armored head rest is held in place with two pieces of left over landing gear wire cut to length and painted dark grey the same as the rest of the cockpit. Beneath the headrest was a red instruction plaque with white letters

The area around the coolng gills is painted Bllack to hide exhaust stains. I am very close to adding decals to the Wurger (Butcher Bird). I still have some work to do to the cockpit.
