I substituted 1/64" plywood for the kit balsa to cover the wires.

Per plan. The main gear, R, is glued into a small notch in front of the former on the keel. The other two wires are glued to the back of the two balsa pieces and tied and glued to the main wire. The other end fits into a small slit on the fuselage. I cut out where the notch once was and glued the wire in place with medium CA. The instructions say to make sure it's straight. :-) It was a bit tricky but once the CA set , the rest of the assembly went smoothly. I glued on small pieces of styrene over the wires for strength.
