Another view. I handfiled and set the teeth on the plate to 16 TPI (crosscut). This project was just about as finiky as building a model. Anymore I need a LED headlamp and 2.50 glasses to keep the saw teeth in focus.

I was feeling burnt out on the XF-92 last week, so decided to catch up on other projects. A freind had brought over a old back saw for me to refurbish. I eneded up keeping the folded spine and replacing the saw plate with some 0.032" spring steel and makinig a new handle out of some localy harvested Black Walnut.

New build. The balsa is pretty crappy(light and weak) with this model, so what I usually do with these pieces is to; 1. Cut out the parts very carefully. 2. Give each piece a coat of 50/50 elmers white or wood glue (I prefer the wood glue). 3. Lay on a flat surface that hase wax paper covering it. 4. Cover with another piece of wax paper and top off with some heavy books. This will prevent the wood from warping when drying. 5. Allow to dry for a couple of days (patience little beavers) 6. After dry, give a light sanding on all glue edges and outside surfaces... Its not good for weight, so flyers beware, but it sure makes a strudy piece, albeit a lot of work and time (which we do anyway for this hobby).

The Gumster managed to assemble the four pulleys that direct the aileron control cables over the upper and lower wing surfaces. Tomorrow he must assemble four slightly larger pulleys that mount slightly below the wing surfaces directing force from the ailerons to the wing mounted pulleys. He is on hos own tomorrow AM as I am off to the doctor for my annual physical examination. Looking forward or rearward to an unpleasant experience!
