I learned a great deal making the leftover cowl from Klaus I. If I must make another for Klaus II at least I will know the procedure. It is all balsa hand shaped and painted.

Lack of quality lube oil doomed this engine design. THe poor oil near the end of WWi severly limited the number of hours before the engine self destructed.

The cowl is hand shaped from the kit parts. After this is smooth I will try covering it with Al tape. If I screw up I can change my plan with cowl II. Quite a lot of the engine should be visible.
